They posted all types of hiring ads on Craig's list and indeed, so I walked in and explained my situation and surprised to be, they said yes. Since my partner has more experience our truck will be considered a training truck, and I am to be recognized as such for about 6 months.

What's the age requirement; do they hire 21 yr. old drivers?

I'm not sure, but I can find out for you and report back Monday.Chinatown Thanks this.

Like in anything...you can negotiate. They are buying your time for a service you provide....be a tight wad....I usually am and with a perfect record I can afford to be.nosleep4bishop Thanks this.

I just spoke with my old DM out there. If it's that Dedicated to Utah then, it will be two runs a week at 5500 miles a week and two days off. There may be a third run if you're up to and they have it. You two will be at .46 cpm while you're considered a "Training Truck", after the six months you both will go up to the full .50 cpm rate.
CE has changed many Policies and things this year. Which is normal for Companies. There still that $500 sign on bonus. However, I don't think students get it. My GF didn't. Experienced Drivers do.
He said with the amount of loads needing to be moved, you two wont be jerked around with other loads. You'll be just on that Customer only.Last edited: Sep 27, 2016

I also just spoke with the Director of Operations. He confirmed what my old DM said. Seems there's been many changes to their structure. Many that seem pretty decent too.
I also heard they now are pulling more loads a week from where I live to Tx. Which sounds very appealing to me even. I think I just may give it another swing?
Are there better Companies out there than CE? Sure. I have only found worse. Their Dispatch methods are crazy for Solo Drivers, but I've seen far worse.Last edited: Sep 27, 2016

Now it makes sense when you explain it like that. I just don't agree with the bait n switch tactics they're trying to pull.
-
Sadly, almost all Companies do that. One of the frustrating thing about Trucking... fishing through the false BS.
-
#### that is frustrating but it is what it is I guess at this point. Hey what was the rate on your detention pay while you we're with CE?
