Mobile CB mic

nothing wrong with that....the bigger the radio the bigger the beast.. the more it costs you $$$ to run it properly....

Back in 1998 I drove a International Eagle, now that SOB was solid, and I ran a Cobra 148GTLF into a 4 pill ( 2879s) and did some serious 2 way radio communicating, especially when skip was running, with this new Cascadia that has E-Log and incab dash camera wouldnt even consider running power like that ( 4 pill is modest) I average 6 to 8 miles transmit and receive is excellent stock(which I guess isnt affected by lack of ground plane) so its all good, plus most newbies dont even know what a cb radio is.

 

If all the mics are being tested under the exact same conditions,whether the room is noisy or quiet, it would stand to reason that the one that sounded best in a controlled enviroment would still be the superior sounding mic in the real world enviroment, the cab of a semi, but once again the best sounding mic may sound different to different ears, that is why I stated that the 198 sounded best to me in comparison tests.

 

Well I guess I didnt specifically state that the 198 sounded best to me in my previous posts, but it was generally what I was implying, because there is no way everyone is going to agree , because everyones perception of what sounds good and what sounds better is subjective at best.

 

true statement they may know what a radio is but they don't care if they own one......

 

True. Drives me crazy. Makes me glad I'm in the oilfield. Everyone has a radio. You'd be lost without one.
