The other theory on challenging them is that by doing so, they aren't as inclined to write BS because they can be sure a judge is going to be having a look at it...and THEY have to see that judge more often than YOU do, so if they get a reputation for wasting the judge's time with stupid BS, that judge is likely to lose patience with that officer and is more likely to toss the case unless it is really egregious.

Challenge EVERYTHING and make them work for that revenue. By NOT challenging anything, you're holding your pocket wide open for them to pick it.

 

I agree to a point. If your guilty and you know it. Own up no matter how much of an arse the small ##### officer is pay the ticket. If you feel justifiably wronged. Fight it.

 

They don't have to give you a ticket to make your life miserable. Just pulling you over and keeping you there for a long time While they "check you out" with a fine tooth comb every day can render you an unreliable carrier that can't make your loads on time.

 

Exactly. I was flat out told that in Milton this spring. "Well you can fight it but I'll win anyways and you do have to cross the scales again you know" I'll support anyone that stands up to those yahoos regardless of skin colour or race!

 

Interesting. So that's what all the hoopla was about. I'm kinda on the side of the MTO on this one then. Assuming they aren't ticketing for being 50 lbs over axle. There's a lot of garbage being driven on the road that shouldn't be. Like others said air gauges aren't that much money.

Apparently orcen has a problem with with native canadians too. I see in the truck news online the government has backed off on axle weights for aggregate haulers. Sounds like they want the pits to have axle scales.

 

No i don't have a problem with people who don't work and constantly cry and complain and receive handouts from the government, and block roads and rail when they don't get their way.

They can use the land we use but god forbid we use theirs.

I was sea dooing on the st claire river a few months ago and they floated up to me and said i couldn't boat in their water, needless to say i had a good laugh right in their face.
