Oh, I definitely believe there is a bigger picture here, just one of the reasons I have been VERY frugal with new purchases and only keeping equipment that I have drivers and volume for.
Looks like somebody besides us transporters in here has taken notice!

A friend of mine who works at Budget used cars said sales have gone in the tank due to customers have no credit or they are in active bankruptcy. New cars are easier to sell due to low interest rates and rebates plus they finance them now for 40 years(sarc). Go figure
KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this. -
Sounds like further market adjustment to me and the ones willing to do it for nothing with their ratty looking equipment won't be around long .
I just went thru a rough last 2 mos with my flatbed staying out the whole time because I won't do charity trucking .
We are in a down turn and in rough times the ones that make it thru are the ones who stay out and wait it out .
Definitely not a good time to be a gotta be home every weekend o/o.skinnytrucker, KANSAS TRANSIT and brian991219 Thank this. -
No offense, but that's the problem. You think $2.80 is good. Maybe for freight but not for cars. You can buy a brand new Freightliner and dry van for less than $200k. A new Peterbilt car hauler is $295k. Plus all the stuff Kansas mentioned earlier. Labor , etc. My CPM is $2.34 mi. If I don't get somewhere is the neighborhood of $3.74 mi or $1250 a day running local, its not worth itOugigoug, Viceroy1, KANSAS TRANSIT and 3 others Thank this.

The bank offered me a 72 month loan on a 2014 Honda Accord, private party sale. I took them up on a 60 month term. And my credit score is below 700 at the moment. So I don't think that's the issue everywhere.

Was posted here a while back the repo lots are packed so I'm sure if you have decent credit you can get a deal now .
