To make any money more than he is now its best to switch to another company That will pay him more CPM and more home time. This forum is a wealth of information regarding this subject. However I believe if what I have read is Correct O/O and Company are the only way to go....

I have talked with several new o/o that were company drivers. When you change over to an O/o, or lease driver you loose all your ESOPs unless you are vested after 6 years. And you pay to continue the benefits. As for more money he will make it but it will go to TMC for the truck expenses. The home time don't expect that to change too much. Have your husband talk to all the new o/o that were once company drivers. Not hard to miss they like to pimp out the old 379's

Hes partially vested with 3 years. He has talked to tmc lease drivers. He met another tmc lease driver that had the same load making way more going to the same place as him. The guy said he wished he did it sooner. He hears it a lot so is considering it.

Yes, he's making way more...but he's also paying the fuel, maintenance, insurances for truck, etc.

The benefits here gets to keep is their insurance, and his cost will increase substantially. It might be a few hundred bucks more a month, by he will be allowed to keep his plan, it just won't be the same cost.
As for their trucks, I'm told by many that if he is getting one of their old trucks and leasing it on with them, they will do a full rebuild through cat with a warranty, plus they will fix any and all issues that he finds prior to him getting the truck. I've spoken with several of their former company guys who got one of their old fleet trucks and of the ones I've spoken with, they seem to like the program. Most of which seem to be making it a solid go.pcsn0122 Thanks this. -
I would have him talk with TMC about the ESOPs it's my understanding you are not 100% vested until 6 years and if you leave the company as an employee prior to that you will loose the ESOPs. I could be wrong, have been in the past. Someone may be able to verify that.

Lease program is good if you want to truck for the next 20 years. Trucks are to expensive for the miles and the MPG is bad. But if you can tough out the lease and pay it off, then drive it another year and put the payment into a saving account. Then you have a good down payment and a truck to trade in for a new one. Yes, they will do a full overhead on the engine ( will cost you about 30K) on top of the lease. So about 60-70K for a million mile truck with a rebuilt engine that has been thrashed by a lot of new drivers.

This is not the thread to ask I apologize. But could you tell me your opinions of tmc as a company? Both yours and his sounds like a good outfit.
