This is obviously your first driving job, you have a lot to learn. You're complaining about how a lot of companies are run. If you don't like it maybe this isn't the career for you....

Funny how some people like to pile on others for a perceived lack of literacy, while apparently not bothering to read forum rules themselves. I would suggest that they do so.
Here's a reminder.

I'm newish to the industry. Did work some time at a small local expediter some years ago so I was familiar with some of it. Being a young dispatcher it was hard to distribute the miles equally as the business was ran on an on call type of staffing (paid hourly not cpm). The guys who always answered their phone and said yes usually we're the ones we kept going. Then you have those other guys who are hard to get ahold of and then when you have a run for them they ask where is the load going..... if it wasn't long enough, or where they would like to run they'd turn it down and wonder why they're not making any money.
Being in this industry or any for that matter your usually one of two things. A liability which makes no money or an asset with a smile on your face from having to much money. -

Wow.....and I heard they were a really good company 10 years ago.
I can see why the op dislikes them, and losing your paycheck really must leave you feeling angry.
I hope you find what your looking for!Canned Spam Thanks this. -
Just my personal opinion here but I've done a lot of research into Roehl and I've found very little negative things about them. I've read through the entire thread and sure seems like there is more to this story not being told. Just me though...

Just like every company that hires inexperienced drivers Roehl is going to micromanage you. You may not like this, but at some point you have to get your foot in the door. They're a good starter company for most, some stay for the long run. It all depends on what you make of it, some of the guys I dispatched years ago are still there and loving it (well liking it anyways).
ladr Thanks this. -

Maybe he tripped the driver can and didn't know it'll keep transmitting for hours. I had to jump on the brakes hard a couple weeks ago on account of a car swooping in on me and then standing on his brakes...got to see that dang light for six hours until my hours ran out and I parked.
