It's my understanding that once that 70 starts you can't stop it. Now another 10 off will reset it again

Look through your previous logs. Whatever you used 8 days ago will be recaptured and added to available hours at midnight.

If you didn't put any hours in that day then there'll be nothing to add.

    Waggledaddy and chrism1367 Thank this.

I recommend if you have an android device of any kind such as a smart phone to find this at the app store. I know several drivers that are using it. If I were still an active driver I would.

Ok thanks for the replies I got it. Btw, I have to have at least 8 hours on my clock on any given day in order to work. I could still have 7 hours on my clock but wouldn't be able to work because of union contract. Guaranteed 8 hours per day. I ran out of hours once and they didn't like it so just trying to stay ahead of the game thanks fellas

You ARE going to run up against that 70 hour clock. Eventually.

Remember once you begin that 70 hour trail, it cannot get stopped until you have a off day of around 10 hours or more.

Working only 8 hour days shows lack of ambition and will hurt you when they hand you a load requiring 500 mile days.

Local is not bad. Remember OTR is a very heavy user of hours.

Not too long ago, people were asking how to work half hours every week as to never run out of hours.

70 hours stops when you go off duty. It is not like the 14. The 70 hour rule is a time aggregate that simply means in an 8 day period you can be on duty (line 3 + line 4) 70 hours. There is only 2 ways to reduce this clock. A 34 or getting hours back off the recap.
