now that Texas places automatic restrictions are there similar places like http://www.cdltesttruck.com or are they the only ones in the entire country? I think they only have automatic trucks, I am looking for a one day CDL with preferably a 9 speed because that is the easiest one and I have a some experience with it.

Why would you search for such a thing? Your main priority should be training, and you cannot be properly trained in 1 day. You should worry about your safety, not getting your CDL in 1 day. You are driving 40 ton of metal on wheels out there, not a bicycle delivering papers.

So you are looking for a tractor to rent for your DMV test, and not a school?

Just go rent a tractor from penske or Ryder and take the test if you're just looking to get the license. No need for a school

How is it that you think Penske or Ryder would rent a person that doesnt have a CDL a vehicle that requires a CDL to drive it?

Besides, both usually require a certificate of insurance acord proving that you have vehicle insurance for that specific class of vehicle.

OP, dont take bad info. One day training programs usually do nothing for you. What company in their right mind would actually put someone behind the wheel with no experience and no professional training?

Certainly not a company I would want to work for anyway.

You would need someone with a cdl to rent the vehicle and go to the test with you. I've done this twice for friends. You don't need proof that you have insurance all you need to show them is the paperwork for the vehicle you drove to the test.

I am sorry, but I cant help but to laugh at this. You want to get your CDL in one day, THEN get a job? Good luck on that

I don't see anything wrong with the OP's request. Most starter companies send newbies out for weeks with trainers and even after that the majority of "professional" drivers I see can't drive for ####.

You may not see anything wrong with it...but just because he has a CDL doesn't mean squat.
