If this is the same outfit out of Versallies Ohio....I laughed at the pay they offered me (perfect record 12 years exp) last year when I was shopping around. Just seemed the A typical reefer cheap freight hauler like Continental Express....AL Smith...and others around this area
Classic carriers

Thought of this thread when Classic pulled a Swift near where I live this past week...
For what they pay...this is what they can expect...

He didn't pull a swift.
His brakes failed. -
I'm sorry, I cannot buy the story the brakes failed. IF he lost all his air, the springs would stop him soon enough. Do you understand my position?
I suspect the driver totally and utterly failed to move his foot to the service brakes at all. Boom into one house really badly. He's lucky it aint got a basement and gas mains to drop into and then be cremated.
23 hours aint bad for waiting on a load information, FYI we are working into the high holidays for Israel and Judasim in general this week so.. things might be a little bit slower. Holidays are coming up too so that's going to slow things even more.
We also have a Hurricane Matthew coming across Haiti tonight and Bahamas in a day or two, then Miami and points north inside Cape Hatteras Light by weekend.
There is generally no layover pay for being empty waiting to be dispatched. If everyone demanded 20 dollars an hour to sit on fat ### waiting for work then no one will be around very long in business. The Patriot Thanks this. -
Come on....his brakes did not fail. I see these Classic idiots speeding all over Darke Co (Where I live)...even called in on a couple of drivers as of late but Classic no doubt just brushes it off since with what they pay...all they can afford are losers for the most part.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Just because the truck didn't use up all the air in the pneumatic system doesn't mean you can't burn your brakes up to the point where they're no longer effective.x1Heavy Thanks this.

I agree with you.
Examine the grass tracks behind the trailer tandems. It seems he went straight in. If there was braking going on you would think the grass is a little more torn up yes? -
It could be but it's hard to tell at this point.
The truck may have been under a heavy load or a light load. The tracks left by the tires look all the samex1Heavy Thanks this. -
Fair enough.
In my time detention pay was a fantasy. To even talk about such a thing to a reciever borderlines on fantasy dream talk. Something they laugh at you and do not pay period.
It was one of the losses we eventually learned to fix by running with certain companies such as McKesson who reloads within the hour on the dock cardboard going back to Memphis, paying each way and already knowing there is a loaded trailer there waiting for us at drop and hook.
Do you understand my postion a little bit more?
Im not your enemy and I do not wish to add to the problem already as it was expressed by your post.
All of our time on the road is valuable extremely. But until we " who is this we?" learn to cash out properly the time previously unpaid for... we will always be abused.
