Max time you spend in sleeper birth?

When I ran a logbook, (I'm local now), I'd log all my ten hours as off duty. I never logged sleeper berth. And I never had a problem.

 

No siree, I peed in a portable pitcher, so I could sleep uninterrupted, and later walked inside with a backpack and dumped it, would you like to smell the pitcher? Of course I rinsed it, but also ate asparagus...

 

When I was in the chemical business it wasn't uncommon for our drivers to spend 5-9 days waiting to unload. The record was 521 hours of billable demurrage on one job for one truck. Of course the crew gave our driver a lift in to town every couple days to get a shower and some groceries. Being paid by the hour with overtime after 40 our guys looked forward to getting on one of those jobs.

I had. In CO officer asked me if where load was? I sad with me.
"Who is responsible for it?" he replied
"I am"
" Well son. every time you under load and taking responsibility for it mark yourself as SB. Unlness you staying in hotel . or somewhere where you not the only one who will answer in case of emergency"
"Yes ,sir"
" good , now get the he'll out "
" Yes sir , have a good one "

After that conversation, every time I am under load I put myself on SB mode. Even for 34 reset. Cause I took that reset INSIDE THE truck , not in motel or gas station

 

What's a sleeper? Lol.

 

But conceived in a sleeper... Totally Possible!!!

§ 395.1: Scope of rules in this part.

(a) General. (1) The rules in this part apply to all motor carriers and drivers, except as provided in paragraphs (b) through (r) of this section.

(2) The exceptions from Federal requirements contained in paragraphs (l) and (m) of this section do not preempt State laws and regulations governing the safe operation of commercial motor vehicles.

I suggest you keep up on the Rules and highlight the sections that directly affect you performing your job.

Where does this happen so I can avoid this state (although I'm guessing it's Commiefornia which I don't do anyway)?

If I have to sit somewhere for more than 24 hours, I will get a motel. I log everything off duty. I am not going to show any receipts or any paperwork other than the logs, registration and insurance, and the BOL. No truck search without a warrant. No signing of any "warnings." Don't like me? Don't remember signing up for a popularity contest. Do your job. I am going to do mine. And I hope you brought your A Game.
