Looking for a new antenna

First check his vids then if it's really what you want get in touch with him, you don't have to make it to Las Cruces to make it happen.

This is by far the best radio that i have, awesome tx/rx no toys and frills here.

 

yeah I'm going to look into that siro myself looking to experiment as usual. I could use a back-up antenna...

 

I have a 379 Flat top. Always wanted to mount the antenna on the back . I figured there would be reception issues. I run a Striker on the driver side with a single 18ft coax. You can hear folks jabbering from a long ways out.

 

toys and frills are junk... I surely don't miss those toys at all from back in the day .not interested in hearing those fools roger beep.. I've got one on all my radios and never flip the switch on it...

 

I just looked up that Sirio 5k. It looks mighty cool. How does it perform compared to an external coil type antenna such as Striker, Predator,etc?

 

The longer the shaft underneath the load the better it will perform

If anybody in this forum has gotten to the point where a Predator 10-K antenna gives them excellent performance I'd be willing to donate one of my antennas so that they could do a side-by-side comparison because I'm willing to bet it will outperform the Predator 10-K

 

You have the Sirio? Do you think it will out sauce an old Striker. I got it in OK City back in '03. The Sirio looks lighter and less cumbersome.
