What's up guys haven't been on here in a few weeks. OK so here goes just got hired for my first intermodal job in in almost 14 yrs been doing local route deliveries in Chicago. So I put my 2 weeks notice in at my employer and immediately the word started to get around. Lol everybody asking why you leaving what you going to be doing? So I tell them. So there's a couple guys at the warehouse telling me man I know guys who do intermodal they don't make any money I'm hearing it over and over the past week and a half a lot of the guys think I'm crazy for making such a big change. So any thoughts on what their telling me. Again most guys are telling I'm making a bad decision financially.

Sounds like hearsay to me and that none of the people telling you it's less money have actually done it. Stick to your guns, man. You sound like a hard working man....you'll be successful in this, too.

Hearsay for sure ! I know the few people that have pulled me aside and gave me negative feedback about the situation after asking them have they ever done it themselves NO was always there answer. After that they had nothing to say about it. I do consider my self a hard working man I've Been working hard since I was sixteen been a commercial driver since nineteen just trying to put food on the table for my family. Anyway I'm not a afraid of hard work and I'm not afraid to work hard. I know intermodal has its cons I've done it back in 2003 for just a few months driving for an o/o who had his truck leased on with a small outfit. It was cool but after a while #### went sour on his behalf he ended up a selling his truck. Well thanks for your response sir !

I do it in the Chicago area currently, I can't wait to get out. Who do you plan on working for? The only way to go if your company is by the hour with overtime. Obviously paid on W2. Lots of these companies are 1099

Tired of dealing with crap chassis, being a target for DOT, constant waits at the rails even though I'm paid hourly it gets old, ignorant drivers who don't speak English at the rails, the list goes on and on.

Yeah I feel ya bro Ive read and heard all about it I guess it does get aggravating out there doing intermodal but some people can tolerate it. Some people cant! But it's something I wanna do if it works out good if not well I'll look for something else.

I can tolerate it just don't want to anymore. Who are you looking at working for? Who are you leaving after years of working for?
