She looks good man. From what I see in the pictures you just need to slap some shiny rims on her with the new tyres and she'll look very good.
-
yeah, looks clean. and straight. i like a nice clean white paint too, thats what im going back too on mine. very nice.
how sloppy is the shifter?
yah i'll put some pics up of mine too in the FL section. -
Yeah its not too bad. Had loads of potential. Has some body damage around the front headlight but other than that is really straight. Interior is clean and not a single crack in the vinyl. Dual air ride seats too.
Shifter seems pretty good. Its the first cabover that I have driven so I dont have much to compare it to though.
I do want to get some new wheels for it in the spring. Its got stud pilot wheels on it now so I'm thinking I will change the hubs to Hub pilot since the wheels are much easier to find and I dont have to deal with Two piece lug nuts. -
yeah, hub pilot is what you want.
oil the little bearings in the shifter,if they havent shed all the needles in themselves already. -
Ok I'll take a look at it.
Waiting to get my cab tilt cylinders back from the hydraulic shop. The steel lines on them were rotted so I couldn't tilt the cab without using two quarts of oil. Once I get them back I'm really going to give it a good once over and get it ready to be put on the road. -
I just bought tires recently and a discussion about the deep tread 30/32's tires versus tires with different/newer compounds that only have 26/32's new. In high torque applications or single axle drive the deep tread 30/32's have a tendency to not wear evenly, cupping, and dipping. They might not if you are habitually careful on the go pedal. I decided to go with Goodyear Marathon LHD, $379 apiece unmounted including all taxes, they are one of the newer fuel efficient tires with less tread depth new.
Salesman said that even though they have less tread depth he is seeing they are lasting as long as the tires with deeper tread depth. Of course that remains to be seen. Looks like you have at least one Goodyear G372 drive tire on your right rear outside. They are/were good tires and is the same tread pattern as the newer Marathon but the rubber compounds are much different. For me I like the G372 type tire and what little snow and ice I found myself in it did very well much better than my previous Yokohamas.Last edited: Oct 8, 2016
