It's very dependent on where you park and what's between you and the rooftop. I went ahead and bought a year for $99. We fuel up there exclusively anyway. I would say 85-90% of the time I can stream Amazon movies at any pilot/Hook on my laptop. My cellphone doesn't do wifi worth a darn even in the best of circumstances, so I couldn't tell you about that.

99 bucks for a year of high speed wifi at Pilots would be a good deal . I may look into it

I don't see anything about it being upgraded again. If it is, that would be great since the "premium" wifi and their "new and improved" wifi is pretty terrible. Every once in a while Im able to stream a movie or something, but majority of the time it's awful. The stores that offer legacy wifi still are even worse, generally I can't get it to connect inside the store, much less in the parking lot.

Try it for a month. Don't have one bad experience at one location then assume it's all bad, every where. I've found it good enough to reduce my phone data plan size to more the pay for a year of the Pilot Premium. But we use PFJ exclusively for fuel, so it makes sense for me to leverage the PFJ wifi network and yearly savings.

But again, it not flawless, and you results will vary from spot to spot, and site to site but on balance, it's pretty decent, most of the time (even peak periods is tolerable)

The cost of pilot wifi for a year is also whatever your remaining point balance is. Just attempt to purchase it with points (for a year).

Yes. The yearly price is far cheaper per month at $99 then buying by the month or less. I have not found any restrictions or noticed any throttling policies. Sometimes during peak periods it will slow some. But during off-peak, you could download a GPS map update if you needed to, probably in a few hours.

But I expect the yearly price to go up soon, so buy now before they raise it if you think you will at some point. But it's not a bad idea to buy a month for $20[?] and try it, here and there to see how it will work for you at your regular stops.

Didn't it used to be $199.99?

    Quite the discount.

Back when I was otr you had to take your Ethernet cable into the wall.

I really liked the idleair internet but again you had to have your own Ethernet cable.

    IdleAir Thanks this.
