I just never pay attention. I have not had a drink in years. -

I agree!
Same goes for gas stations selling alcoholic beverages.
It shouldn't be allowed.
Why temp a driver?
Convenience?
Ask the rescue personnel how "convenient" it is.

AfterShock and InMyDreams Thank this.

True, but alot of the local PD's don't always know the FMCSA rules.
People with CDL's also need to remember that their license is subject to whatever happens whether they are driving a truck or personal vehicle.AfterShock Thanks this. -
Road Medic,
What I'm pointing at is its not allowed at all. Whether he was drinking them or not. Said driver is responsible for said truck, the containers are in there, therefore he has broken the law and 4 points shall be assigned to his license provided he is found guilt in a court of law.
If he blows a 0.04 or higher, he loses his license for one year. Second offense he loses his CDL for life.
Considering he lives in North Carolina, Not far from me, he just lost his driving privileges for one year be it his first offense.
Either way he lost his job.
For all we know, it was another swift driver who called him in. Maybe one who respects his right to work and would like to see his employer clean up their act a bit.InMyDreams Thanks this. -
I can garantee that if you are caught in a semi you will be up s creek with out a paddle no matter what state you are in.
Dui with a Cdl is alot different than a Dui with a regular drivers license. -
You have that right. But many drivers fail to realize that a dui in a personal vehicle is now the same to their license as if in a big truck. -
Roadmedic Thanks this.
