It's a form of college that will not "Take"
Ive done college both in person and also the so called video and tapes from home or wherever there is equiptment availible in the car to play it. Remember in trucking you are only allowed handsfree and then only with certain limitaitons.
There is no way you are going to focus on the material in your ear while trying to avoid grid rush traffic problems in real time. It's just not going to happen. Many people can say they multitask, but ultimately they only remember and retain snatches of this or that but never the whole.
You can go to college. Or you can go truck. But not both. Not now.

To the OP, online college is extremely heavy on writing. If you can't write well then you will be in trouble. Virtually every school is going to have a basic course, probably two. They are usually a requirement, I suggest you take them both first. They will teach you how to write a college essay. A college essay is a bit different than high school.
First thing I do with an essay is look up some quotes and references. That part takes the longest and is the least enjoyable. You have to learn how to quote and cite in proper format, APA, MLA or Chicago. Your professor will tell you what they want. Virtually all professors are format nazi's. I swear, some of them only grade from that and I have been deducted points for not indenting properly. I have a nice APA essay template that I could email you once you start, just shoot me a P.M. -
Really, I seem to be doing both well. I'm on the Dean's list and I'm putting down a solid 3k a week on the road.moloko Thanks this.

Lectures won't be the main thing if you are doing it online. It's more of a lesson that you read and then write something off of that. You can always go into the virtual classroom with your professor, it's actually pretty neat how much they can show you there. I don't need much help usually unless I'm really struggling. If you plan on working an hour a day you can easily do two classes at once. 2 hours a day for finals week.

I am hopefully going back to college in Jan. while still doing my full time job. It will be an online course. I have done them before and it wasn't the easiest but it was doable. You will have to make time to do the course work. No excuses, just get it done if you do it.

The good thing about online is that it's self paced. One layover or when you have a long time before a delivery and you can do a whole week in a day.

I thought about doing this at my last job when we went to no more extra days. Then I thought unless I was told it would get me a position higher in the company why bother? I'd make them pay for it, otherwise I'd be starting a new carrier at the bottom again and take a pay cut while having another bill to pay.

At the same time it's a double-edged sword. If you're a procrastinator, you may find yourself "self-pacing" until the end of the semester

I'm in my last semester at University of Texas at Arlington, and currently only running 3-4 days per week with Schneider . I also started at a community college! IMO online classes are easier if you have good reading comprehension, and the scheduling is very straightforward. My assignments and discussions are always due on Sunday, and often you can work ahead if the professor opens up all the lessons. But you do need to verify exactly what classes will transfer directly into your degree, and get the plan guaranteed by officials.

Indeed, you have to have discipline.
