The DUI can change things for you and limit you, so if TransAm will take you go for it. I've met a couple of their guys and they seem happy, have nothing bad to say and their trucks are nice but don't go L/O! If in a couple years Finance your own truck and if the deal is right you can make a crapload of money......IF the deal is right! I'm strongly considering that path myself after talking to many local O/O's around my area and everyone has said the same thing buy a good, reliable but OLDER lower payment truck! (Older meaning 7-10 yrs) they all said the same thing, that is the tipping point of making a tone and spending a ton. But in my region their lots of ports, construction and lots of work for regional O/O's. If I was OTR I may or may not want a possibly10yr old truck. Every situation is different but in any case I've looked into quite a few L/O deals and never saw one that was a good deal for the driver. Lots of people will say how much they make, but conveniently leave out how much they spent! Math doesn't lie.

Old Iron is a joy to me. It is a understood item. Newer iron is a strain because you need a computer versus computer.

Old iron requires wrenching and what have you. But it will take care of you when called upon to do so.

Ive had the feeling that Nation USA in general are trying to eliminate Old Iron because of the freedoms it represents literally. A man with a tool box and a few parts under a shade tree can have it 100% without too much effort. See where Im going?
