When contract rates drop even though fuel is going up that's nothing more than a company taking money on the front end to bolster their profit margins.
It makes the bottom line look better usually for an IPO or another round of stock sales.

Hmmmm didn't SNI just confirm an IPO.

Screww the contractor to bolster the bottom line.

I heard same when Coyote Logistics was about to sell to UPS...Their freight rates went from ok to ridiculus prices... but that was also when spot market took huge dive.

I see the same old loads at the same prices. What has been dropping is the amount of freight. Very difficult to book 2-3 loads in a day when there use to be endless options.
Plus it seems everybody likes short loads these days, they fly off the board soo fast!

I just turned down a load going to Florida that was paying me $1.50 and that rate was after the 320 mile dh to Kansas out of Denver. I just didn't feel like dealing with NIcole. "He'll has no furry like a women's wrath" especially if her husband (Mathews) was just cheating on her ;)

Wow you must be lucky to still see the same rates when everyone else sees them dropping.

I wish I could see even similar rates as before.
