Had the 18" shaft install and I clean all the connections. Had the SWR tune. He clip quite a bit of the stinger. Got it down to 1.2 on Channel 1 and 1.3 on Channel 40. I measure the height form the ground to the top of the antenna. 13'9". With the recieve upgrade I had install a month ago and the antenna shaft longer, my Galaxy Pluto seems to come all together. Already have the RFX 75 and SRA 198. Whats next ? For now pretty happy with my set up. Now I think im gonna jump on a Galaxy 98V , was made an offer I couldn't refuse.

@13'9" you should expect to be looseing the static ball off the top of the ant and the whip might even curl like a pigs tail..Lean that sucker a few degrees to get you at 13'6"
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
If need be you could still trim a lil off that whip to make it shorter and stay where ya want it..Your nit pickin then..Might end up teverseing your #'s some and even changeing your resonance freq..
If you like it as is,leave it and deal with the extra 3" when you hit something..Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Or he could put a 90-degree Bend in the whip precisely at 13 foot 6 inches and leave the static ball intactDiesel Dave Thanks this.

So... I was thinking... what happens if you shorten the antenna by putting some Z bends in it? What does it affect?
-
I can't imagine it having very much of any effect

I have an extra stinger for my Wilson. I'll try it and see what it does.
In other news, here are some screenshots from my RigExpert and Wilson 2000. I understand the SWR pretty well... help me to understand the second screen. Where X=0 is the resonant frequency, correct?

When I cleaned the mount, I did tilted it forward some degrees just to basically keep the tip of the stinger vertical when going down the road. It's pretty sturdy and it doesn't "curl like a pigs tails" as much as one would think.

It will when you start hittin over passes..Depending on your ant brand..I had a pair of wilsons on a binder yrs ago..Hit some over passes in maine..When i could pull over to see what the noise was i saw the whips..lol laughed my butt off..
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Here is a different screen.
