From word of mouth a few people said they were good mechanics. So far, I'm only impressed by one guy there. The one guy is what is holding everything together. Not sure what the total price is yet, but it shouldn't be more 10k. There was a lot of damage, and in the end the transmission needed rebuilt/replaced as well.
8 work days to replace clutch??

Apparently you have never seen a cracked flywheel or one to far out of spec to resurface. You do know there is only certain amount of tolerance before resurfacing a flywheel is usless right?Road Killer Thanks this. -

Once the parts are found its a day long job for a good mechanic. 8 days will probably be me working on it haha

Heck, it cost me less than $6K to have my transmission rebuilt. That included a new clutch. And I had my truck back in a week, but it only took that long because one of the gears they needed was backordered.Road Killer Thanks this. -
Ok...now that I've made it past the first page and saw the pic, this is a lot more than "just" a clutch job. As a general rule, I shy away from "towing & recovery" shops for repair work unless it's after-hours and I need the work done NOW. Usually costs a little more...higher overhead costs with the notes on all of their wreckers and other equipment due each month in addition to the facilities. So, they mark up the price of parts a little more, charge a slightly higher hourly rate, and you help them pay for all of their expensive equipment parked outside waiting on a call to come in.
Road Killer and rollin coal Thank this. -
Flywheels are a different thing, I know that it has a no go size that can be reached but burning one up is abuse.Road Killer Thanks this.
