No, they aren't. I love sleeping next to reefers, those are white noise to me. Trust me, this fan is LOUD. As in louder than I crank the radio for that heavy metal rock and roll noise I prefer to listen to in traffic (it's great when the 4-wheelers suddenly need to put their windows up as they pass me in the crawl!)

This thing will put out about 500 btus. The fan is probably inefficient. A bunk heater will put out 8000 btus while drawing a fraction of the amps.

Right! Sleep like a baby in 4° weather, just have to put a knit hat on so your head doesn't get too cold. The settings are 1-7, crank it to 7 an hour before you go to sleep and then turn it down to 2 once your under the covers. Never had to turn it higher than 2 while sleeping.

Another vote for the mattress warmer. I used one for many years too. Like luwi snd ez said just have a touque for your head. I would have frost on the uphostery screws in the bunk and still be warm. If it was really cold i would put my clean clothes under the covers with me so they would be warmer. Always wished I could start my truck from the bunk though lol. Seemed to take forever to get heat out of it when it was minus 20 c at 3 in the morning lol

Exactly. The knit hat is an essential. Makes for a bad hair day though.

I have a small bunk and the heavy duty insulation package in my sleeper, and I prefer not to idle down to 10 degrees. Love to bundle up under a pile of blankets. Knit cap is absolutely essential, as are nice warm socks.

In the morning, nothing better than slipping out of bed into the cold cab, start the motor and crawl back in my warm hidey hole for 20 minutes until you finally get heat.....
