Trihi pays their drivers once a month on the miles they run on every first Friday of the month. All other Friday's driver's get an advance on their pay of $500. Whatever is not paid out driver's get the rest in their settlement check the first Friday. This enables Trihi to save time and money on their office work with accounting. Trihi is a good company and they will run u hard mostly using up ur available driving time to the very minute.

That is probably the strangest and dumbest way I've ever heard of to pay a person. How about you pay me weekly or bi-weekly for the work Ive done. Don't tell me I get an advance for money I've already earned.

Each to their own I guess. Not everyone can manage to budget like that. But the benefits of working for Trihi are well worth it. Uget used to the pay schedule after awhile. No biggie really. It helps Trihi cut costs and saves on office work. The drivers that go the extra mile to help out find that Trihi is more than willing to reciprocate and bend over backwards when the driver's need help. Though not perfect, Trihi has high morals and integrity and will not cheat u.

They are cheating you by only paying you 500 a week for 3 weeks and calling it an advance.

The way I see it is you are getting the same amount of money at the end of the month whether you get paid weekly or the way they do it.

If they are taxing you on one big check I would hate to see the withholding on one of those..

You really should get your edge up on taxes. If too much taxes is being taken off your pay, you just up the exemptions that you claim, that's all. But you have to figure it out correctly so you don't be owing too much into good ole' Unc Sam at the end of the year. But you do know if you pay too much in Unc Sammy will use it all year and give the extra back to you come tax time.

No they are not cheating you. They pay once a month but give driver's money each week in advance of the monthly payday so driver's can have ready cash to pay bills, buy food, etc. All the paid advances then get deducted out of the monthly settlement check for all miles driven.

The people that see this as dumb or strange tell on themselves. They are not business management minded. Actually this is quite smart to do. Office work is reduced greatly, thus saving money there. Also, after a run is completed, most contracts allow 30 days for payment to be made to the trucking company. But as several drivers on here already said, lots of drivers want to be paid weekly or biweekly while the trucking company might have to wait 30 days for their money. If the trucking company don't get paid and don't have the money in the bank, then they probably have to borrow money short term to be able to pay their drivers. Well, if you only pay drivers once a month that coincides much more nicely with the 30 day waiting period for payment the contracts allow for. That cuts down on company short term borrowing in a great way while saving lots of interest money. In addition, this provides a lot of extra cushioning in the company bank accounts from the drivers wages that sit there a whole month before being paid out if any contractual payments are paid early. This additional access to monies makes the company more financially stable and independent. Also the company account balances are much higher this way which goes far in making the company seen as worthy of credit and loans to expand, update or what have you. Paying monthly with driver advances is a very smart business management practice to gain competative edges. Management has to look at the whole big picture. Lots of drivers just see and understand the driving part so they don't realize what a great effect monthly paydays can have on a business. Just looking from the driver's point of view it can easily be seen as dumb. Once again, the whole big business picture must be taken into account for a business to survive, be competative and make a profit.

But if you're a company that has to borrow money to pay drivers then you're not a stable company. A companies management and office costs are not my problem as a driver. After all the drivers are the ones making the money in the first place. If you have too much overhead in your office, then have less office staff

You really need to look at the tax charts. One big check for a week = KILLER TAX RATES.
