I had my best reception that way

 

Get a big pie alum pan..Get a top off and can of say tuna or beans ect..put your ant in the alum oie pan and use the top of the can under the pie pan for magnet to stick to..Now place ant (now with a huge ear aka pie pan where ever you want inside..

I bought a stud for the Volvo and the threads were way too big,
I ended up drilling my old CB mirror mount and putting on the mushroom antanae, it works way better than the mouse on the mirror

 

My idea woulda kept everything inside away from the out doors..As long as it works

 

I made a metal platform and used the screw to the sun visor

 

If that was true (using STex's tape) everybody's car in S Texas would fall apart in the summer

 

Just installed mine today.. and this is where I put the antenna...



We shall see how it's going to work... if it will stay in place...



So far the reception is great... I may have to keep monitoring to make sure the tape is not coming loose and may need to re-tape it... Shall see...
