It should be 10% -- since that is all the DOT requires for speedometer accuracy: https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/title49/section/393.82
I know chp trains its officers to give a 10% leeway, although some do "probable cause" stops for less.

I think the scangauge KR has more features then the scangauge D(amazon), Not exactly sure but I do think they're a little different.

The D model isn't for semi's, It's for light duty pickups with smaller engines. The KR model is for semis with bigger engines.
So why use a tool not designed for the job???? The software is different. The codes the d will give you should the engine light come on, don't even match the code charts. -
Just about every car i've ever owned has been off by 10%. Odometer wise, anyways. I haven't really checked speed much since the invention of gps and apps came out. I know my 14 hyundai is off, but don't remember which way. I tested it the day i took her home from the showroom floor. 2 years ago.

Every car I've tested, well minus lifted trucks, has read 5-10% fast (presumably so your warranty expires early)snowwy Thanks this.

The D model is for big trucks. I had Scan Gauge send me a new unit and plug a few months back because the 17 models have a different ECM plug. They also updated the software.
The difference between the KR and D version is minimal. The KR version gives you a profit per mile reading which isn't worth $50.ramblingman Thanks this. -
