Hey Mr. Mike2633... hope all is well with you... I haven't been coming to this and other LTL threads for a while... busy with things.... But glad to know that you continue running hard and doing well....
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Yeah.. I had to deal with some medical issue for almost 12 weeks... took medical leave, went to MD, stayed at a friend's place... she broke her leg and I took care of her... than, I was going back and forth between MD and GA and TN, talking to doctors, gathering exams and their opinions... At the end, I got better and went back to work at my company, in the same truck that I was driving before... I posted all about it at the other thread "This is Party Row" where I visit more regularly...
Now I'm in FL... will deliver tomorrow and then head north...
You doing ok?

We have trucks with full fairings as well. So all single axle trucks have the small fairing, then we have some twin screws that have small and full fairings. As for trailers we have some old roll up door 4 number trailers and a ton of newer trailers. We got like 10 new 716 trailers with the sliders on them.
So as for trailers we have 28' trailers that range from old 4 digit trailers to new 716's. The older 28' trailers have roll up doors and two side doors. Those are being phased out though. Then any trailer that is a 6 digit number has double back doors one freezer door on the side. Now some of are 6 digit 28's have the freezer door offset from the front of the trailer or all the way at the front.
Then we have 36' trailers these are my favorite to have, they can load a ton of cases in them and they are easy to maneuver it tight spots like a 28' trailer. The 36's also have one side freezer door all the way at the front and the back doors are the three door set up.
Then of course we have 50' trailers those are your typical 50 GFS has. Some have lift gates on them
We also have two 53' trailers that have no reefer units on them. Those trailers are only used for our zeypher hills water back haul.
And that's all we got in a nut shell down here lolMike2633 Thanks this. -
You guys have more interesting trucks and trailers then us. We have the 50' refers, and the standard 28' barn doors with one door on the side. No 36' and I don't see us ever having 36' and the reason for that is our warehouse is automated were totally floor loaded which makes a huge difference. Although Aberdeen is pallet loaded like you guys and they don't have any 36' trailers they pretty much have the exact same equipment we have in the old classic GFS territories. However Aberdeen does have some rental equipment though were talking 48' trailer with lift gate on the back and three doors on the side with a side lift gate that comes up, but that trailer is used in like New Jersey and it's a rental/leaser. We have one 45' lift gate trailer that lives at the warehouse that is a roll door.
The 50' we have some are the chain kind with the two doors on the side and the others were before the chain time they have one door on the side and barn doors in the back with no ramp. It's funny how the same company that generally runs the same guidelines has different equipment in different parts of the country.
I could imagine a 36' trailer with a single screw tractor can probably maneuver pretty good. -
I think you are too!
-
Yes! He is!
And you too... Mr. Pintlehook! Nice to "see" you sir...
Y'all keep those wheels turning and stay safe.
Mike2633 and Pintlehook Thank this. -
Good for you Mr. Mike... I can tell by experience, the body does need to stay active... when I spend time out of the truck and exercise, I feel more relaxed, have more energy, it improves my mood, my thinking, I get stronger and it diminishes my aches and pains.... I know it's hard to do the kind of job you do and still work out at the gym, but if you can coordinate those two, it will help you maintain good health and stay in shape...Mike2633 Thanks this.
