Depends,, there are only a few terminals with Reefer DMs. I would recommend calling Rochelle, Jurupa Valley or West Valley. You could try to get ahold of some of the DMs, or call driver services at those terminals. Ask for Ray Lange at Jurupa Valley, he could steer you in the right direction. He's a DM. Becca (can't remember the last name.) As well.
If that fails just call West valley, they could no doubt refer you to a fleet that needs drivers.
Don't bother with Phoenix though there are no Swift Ref people there at all.

I wanted to make sure I got through Minneapolis before the heavy traffic set in.
Delivering by 1500 tomorrow in Lebanon, TN, then I'll be headed to MO. -
At sapp bros in SLC. Delivered like 5 hours ago. I'll pick up some yogurt in the morning and head to Phoenix.
-
Laredo, and there is no freight right now.

Hey Swifties-- I have been following this thread for a couple of months and have been learning a lot from your adventures. I am brand new to trucking, I will be starting CDL school in the spring.
What do you guys think of Swift? I am considering joining them when I finish school. It seems that there is a lot of BS being said about Swift and it's drivers on various forums out there, which I don't really pay attention to. I like the fact that Swift is a large company and accepts new drivers. Has Swift been fair to you as a company driver?
Sorry for butting in on your conversation.... -
Let me ask you this...
How many Swift bashers are there in the Swift forum? I mean from drivers here - not ex-drivers that couldn't seem to do a good job.
Compare that to some of the other company forums.
Swift is a decent company to work for, unless you get a really bad DM.FerrissWheel and MosquitoBandito Thank this. -
That's a really good point.
Thanks for the info. -
Yeah, what he said.
Idk there might be a reason that I decided to transfer to the Flatbed Division, instead of throwing my keys at them ;when I got restless with door slamming.
I'll say this, they have freight , they pay. They actually pay fairly average to decent for OTR, they are not the bottom of the barrel by a long shot. And for the most part I simply did my job as described on the reefer side, they sent loads, and if there were problems they were taken care of. Not always with the first person I talked too, but the issue got fixed.
I know my DM was good, there are bad ones, in which case you switch DMs.
Anyway even when I did some stupid things occasionally, or asked some really stupid questions, it never came back to haunt me.
Feel free to ask questions in here. And @Moosetek13 is really hitting a key point. You have to be absurdly bad at your job to not do well here. Anytime I talk to a driver at a terminal I usually find out real quick why he's doing no good. "Well I turned down this load, and turned down this load, and.........." And I've actually seen someone get towed in, complain they aren't getting treated fair and are looking at XYZ company, because swift has them on saftey hold (and there truck is sitting behind the shop in pieces.)
Anyway, ask away.MosquitoBandito Thanks this. -
Company was good to me. Once your learn their system, it g et ts easièr. Things are not always going to go tour way and the way you handle those will determine how you end up. Everyone can handle the good things. If you go in with a good attitude good things happen. If you go in with a bad one bad things will happen.swift gives all the tools you will need to run the truck and do your job as a driver. It depends if you use them. I can on and on.
