Going to have to pray each time you reach to change the radio station something don't cause you to trigger a critical event. Notice a lot of these safety people working for us never driven a truck but they sure as hell can tell you that you should be a robot that doesn't need to sip on water or change a station for 2 hours.
Not sure how many of you guys take advantage of the 6 calls a day policy, but I wouldn't even touch the phone once the cameras are in.
Walmart here I come!

Best to be as open and honest as possible. It can be understandable considering it was 9 years ago and it appears to have not caused a gap in employment since you returned to your former employer right away. We are all human and can make some mistakes, especially when filled with excitement about a new job. There does not appear there was any intent to deceive in order to improve your chances at being hired.
My best to you and welcome aboard.virginianaples and slim6596 Thank this. -
When it comes to driver facing cameras, that to me creates unintended consequences that do more harm than good. The video from the driver facing camera will certainly be misinterpreted and adversely affect how the driver does their job are 2 reasons against such driver facing cameras, not even counting any driver privacy issues when sleeping or changing clothes. These are 2 prime reasons why airline pilots opposed a similar proposal by the NTSB to use cameras inside the ####pit of airplanes and the FAA shelved the idea in 2009.
When you are among the safest fleets on the road and seek to hire the best drivers, putting driver facing cameras inside the cab will not prevent accidents, but will certainly contribute to more accidents occurring when your drivers are more worried about what a camera is showing than paying complete attention to the traffic around you.
If the main argument is to try and avoid large insurance claims due to accidents, then maybe it is time to outsource the fleet completely and let those headaches be someone else's problem.georgear1084 and slim6596 Thank this. -
To outsource the fleet completely would pretty much go against WM's whole; low cost, save money, yellow smiley roll-back, business model so that is much less likely in my opinion than for those cameras to be released fleet wide in the future.
Of course everyone is going to throw statistics at you saying how much they've improved driver safety by XX%, but at the end of the day the cameras are going to be a CYA measure for walmart to protect itself and possibly even vindicate some drivers, but there will also be some painful terminations and a lot of coachings along the way. -
I passed pre trip road test and physical Monday checked status today online it said post offer checks complete.Does that mean offer is next? If so that was quick.I did see my background check said eligible for hire

Can we outsource the fleet? I've always said, In some back room in Bentonville, there is an accountant saying, well private fleet LOS is 99%, swift is 90%. For the money we save, maybe we can live with 90%.TomOfTx Thanks this. -
