I was one of those that went through JB's driving school back in 1994. I lasted 8 months with them. I was out 2-3 weeks at a time and was only averaging 1800 miles a week. When I complained, I was told they couldn't promise it would get better. That's when I left.
On top of the lousy miles, my home terminal was Springfield, Ohio, now a Boyd Brothers, and if I wasn't on the east coast I was at a Chicago rail yard.
Most runs were 300-400 miles and then you would sit for hours on end waiting for the next load.
Unless thay have made a lot of changes, which I doubt, I wouldn't drive for them again.

They called me all the time too. Finally, I told them I retired three years ago and was not going to drive again. I haven't had a call since. Give it a shot. Might work for you too.

yep gotta love the hometime 10-14 days is usually 21-25 with a "we're trying to get you a load going that way" of course the next load is normally going the opposite way or youre more than 14 on the vru listing for your area then its we cant let you have 3 days off and your time starts on the night you get in. Cant imagine why Im working to get out of their control

Replt to truck-Duck:
What are your complaints regarding JB Hunt? I guess JB Hunt has upped the cents/mile rate again to offset the crappy and insufficient load miles they offer their drivers. -
Reply to whispers 65233:
I agree wholeheartedly with you. JB Hunt promises a minimum of 2500 miles/week and delivers significantly less than that. I have a feeling that JB Hunt's new higher pay rate is needed to offset JB Hunt's crappy and inadequate miles per week they offer their drivers. One week when I worked for them I received a "royal" 752 miles. There is no way a person can pay their bills while receiving such insufficient loaded miles. -

Thanks...I hope to be able to get back to work on that soon...but I've got more stuff going on than I care to even think about at the moment...

I guess I've been looking at this thing backwards. I was thinking just the other day, that I like having a job that usually has me home two or three days a week, with plenty of money coming in to pay the bills, and liking what time I spend on the job as well...but, this is now...wrong?
Hey...if I'm wrong...then I don't wanta be right.
