Yeah, that guy is a joke. Why anyone would actually listen to him and believe him is a mystery. I bet hes never actually drove a truck, just gets paid to act like it
Adding a pusher axle to a 2-axle sleeper cab?

He may be "that Kevin" that you have heard, but the Kevin that I have listened to is very knowledgeable on many trucking business operating expense related topics and is just one of many tools I have used to make more money in trucking. Just because someone says something does not mean you should blindly follow it. What works for me may not work for you. I got by without a GPS for 25 years and I have heard drivers berate those that use them, but I wouldn't take a trip now without it, I still have my atlas as another tool. After 30 years of trucking, investing and saving enough to retire comfortably now at any time that I choose and running a profitable business I still don't know it all. If I were to close my mind and think that I do, I am certain to not reach my full potential. I listened to Dave Ramsey for many years. He mainly spoke to people who were just barely getting by, this didn't apply to me thankfully. Once in a while he would speak on a topic, such as investing in different types of mutual funds and this did apply to me. If I chose to not listen to anything he had to say I would have eventually lost the chance to learn something and would be worth much less money today. Dave and Kevin both have a "common sense" approach. But we all know common sense is not as common as it use to be and thus some people stand to learn from this. I will do my best to learn something every now and then for the rest of my days even if it is common sense.Last edited: Oct 19, 2016

I do understand your point, but not to sound like im berating you or anything like that, but if i needed financial advise....im going to my cpa or finacial advisor.
Someone that is familiar with MY situations, not just an "hear say" biased opinion to give free advice to anyone that will listen. That could in fact be very harmful advice to certain ones.
Also, does anyone know if "Kevin" has any real world first hand trucking experience? -
Yes he has . He was a sub contractor for FedEx . Think at his largest he had 11 trucks. But there are plenty of paid tax guys , that give out crummy advice! Like you need to buy something to lower your taxes. If you did not need that item , bought a 100$ piece to have a 30$ tax savings . Still out 70$. How wise was that?
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Who said anything about CRUMMY advice from your tax guy. Im pretty sure if your tax guy sucked (maybe yours does) that you would know immediately. Your tax bills and yearly profits would reflect said "crummy" advice as well. If you still used that tax guy, then thats you're problem.
A sub contractor for fed ex? Really?? The guy gives all this "awsome" advice and he never even had is own authority or customers? Wow....that now makes him a genius in ALL SECTORS of trucking now? Hmmmm....must have some really good koolaid to pass around the lunch counter with his free advice......Last edited: Oct 19, 2016

Oh yeah, is this the same "Kevin" i heard promoting the Aircell intake spacers and turbo 3000d fuel savers on XM radio?????......LOL...
I take it you have both installed on your truck???Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
So, radio pays better than 11 trucks leased on to FedEx? I've worked in radio, so I know better.Bean Jr. and snowman_w900 Thank this.

No I do not . But a lot of his advice works , because I was doing a lot of the same things 20 years before he had a show .
