Call them and explain to them the miscommunication. It happens.

I used to have this problem. Then I quit working for a mega carrier, and the problem went away. The issue is that the load planners are limited to within a certain radius of home within which they can deadhead you. They are also being forced to keep the truck rolling by management. Their solution is to keep bouncing you around Texas until you cross their invisible line and they authorize your deadhead.

    Xzay Thanks this.

Sure. Thank you for the details. As I always know and am told the devil dances on the details on my grave.

I'll work on it eventually, as slow I am.

Sorry x1Heavy, that wasn't directed at you specifically, moreso to all the rejoins that obviously didn't read the whole thread....... A very, very common occurrence here.

Not even sure why it quoted your post....

Deliver the load. Go home. Stop waiting to be spoon fed everything. Maybe find a better company!

Even more important that you DO go home. Your family needs you.

We as truckers miss out on too much important stuff while out on the road as it is, especially those of us who do OTR. We shouldn't also have to give up the last opportunity to say goodbye to a family member or old friend just to keep some idiot dispatcher or load planner (who we generally don't even KNOW!) happy.

Lucy in the Sky and Xzay Thank this.
