    I copied this from DogTrucker:

HERE IS THE LOW-DOWN ON K&B

I been with K&B almost a year. I have looked but not found a better job (except WalMart) doing Midwest reefers. Newbies start at 45cpm. with experience, it is 48-50 cpm. With a minimum 2500 mile guarantee, that is pretty good.
I have a salary job on a dedicated account - those are available. My pay breaks down to about 55 cpm or $26/ hour. That is for a regular schedule of 11 out/ 3 off (sometimes, it is a little less than 3 - but they only promise 2, so it's a good deal). Schedules are negotiable - you can do 5 on and 2 off - though that pays less. You can stay out and get $1400 every week. Any one can get these positions though you get a little less money if you can't park within 50 miles of one of the customers.
I don't have to work too hard (about 45 hrs/week) Plenty of day driving and usually plenty of time to sleep or pursue other activities while on the road.
The truck are good. Late model Cascadias with APU and real fridg/freezer. Maintenance is immediate for any problem. The trucks are under powered but that is only an occasional annoyance and 65 mph is usually an adequate speed.

Dispatchers have made me mad a few times but I improved the situation through communication and chain of command. I have no complaints at this time.

If you take only your regular days off and vacation days and maybe do a little extra once in a while, you will make $65k here in a year. More is possible but who wants to work that hard?

My advice to anyone having a bad experience at K&B or any company is this:
    1) first, check yourself - are you really being consistently professional and reliable?
    2) improve the situation with better communication or chain of command if not satisfied
    3) adjust your situation: move to another account or get a different dispatcher.

These steps have worked for me. This is a very good job. Easy work (relatively) and very good pay. I recommend this employer.

Yes $700 Denny's is killing me, but it's worth it. Junk food is not good for me. I didn't put savings on the chart but I do save lol

@Bakari742 ... I know you got apu on the truck and from what I understand they got fridgerators in their trucks why don't you put some groceries in your truck and cook in your own truck not only will you save a lot of money but you eat a whole lot healthier

Thank you sir! I know I argue and disagree with you a lot on these forums, but you've earned my respect for trying to help me save $$ on food. I used to stack groceries and fixed my own meals in the truck but the smell of food annoyed me and got lazy, that's why I gave up and started dining at Denny's pretty much everyday. And it's not cheap at all, I spend about $16-18 before tips on average dinner ($25). It hurts to burn my hard earned money on these restaurants but I couldn't handle cooking in the truck :(

This thread is hilarious ....BEST COMPANY ? What are the company(s) are you comparing to, to make such a silly proclamation ? Maybe when you get some experience you can move up to LTL and make some real coin.

This has nothing to do with experience, I simply stated FACTS about my company.

LTL jobs are easy to get but hard to do. Most of us don't want to hump boxes down a ramp, work in the weather, hustle around cities and work long hours stuck in a day cab with no amenities or space to relax while waiting.

Maybe I'm lazy but I rather appreciate my easy, low-stress job. And even so, dollars-to-hours, I know I am making more $ than 90% of LTL drivers.
