P endorsement

The "new" Janet. She can scare me all night.

 

My wife has her class A with all the endorsemens and has driven tractor trailer. When She got offered a job to drive a large coach, they paid for her to train in a school bus. She had to take a written and get a class B permit (can't get class A permit for bus) then she was scheduled a test time at dot and she had to do a pretrip,skills and driving test in the bus . She passed and now has a class A with all endorsements including S and P. She said she had to get used to not swinging wide because you don't have that trailer behind like a

 

Your class A means nothing to the bus companys you might as well just have a regular car license because you will need to test on everything again.

 

It is interesting you posted this about a bus company. I am close to several people at HRT here in Hampton Roads. No matter if you have a CDL or not your going through their training program. However if you do happen to already have a CDL with a P on it you will not need to take the skills testing afterward like most students do.

 

Sorry, I just grabbed the first post I came to, was being lazy last night.

 

I am a licensed school bus driver in CA. I now drive MCI and PREVOST coaches with the same license. A School Bus License in CA is the TOP passenger lic. to have, with it you can drive ANY passenger vehicle.

 

While I hope it does not apply to anybody here. Having a criminal history with some crimes excludes you from getting this. I think this was the reasoning behind creating the new endorsement, but I am not 100% sure. I believe the crimes and restrictions vary from state to state.
