smh misterG. If you can't ALL the time, you shouldn't all the time. You might not give a rip about yours but I give a rip about everyone's. He hits and hurts and everyone's insurance goes up and that's the leastest of the evils.

You change your diet? Fight with the wife? Death in family? Illness such as cancer manifesting inside your body draining energy from you? Gaining too much weight? BORED? (Don't laugh...) or has your company been cracking the whip to go now chop chop don't stop.

Your body has a VERY specific reason for dozing off at whatever situation you are in all else being same. Need to find it and fast.

There is a mechanism in all of us Humans that MUST rest at certain times of the day and night and MUST have a sleep that is adequate for decent enjoyment of life itself. Anything else is trouble.

Me? Don't bother. I have lived a life on a war footing sleeping next week. 16 hours is enough for a good blast for another 5 days and nights. I sleep a great deal now because I can and must. No apnea here. But many other things is my price.

Don't bluff your employer. If you do choose to go this route, be fully prepared to change careers. It may not come to that, but there's a possibility that nobody will hire you after you blow the whistle.

Nah, it aint dozing off on the same route. I did that for years. If energy drinks or those "five hour" bottles dont cut it, you need to find out whats wrong. Maybe you should be driving at night, like I do.

I am not cut out for daytime driving anymore as I've aged, but I can drive all night without anything
stimulating my brain. I see LOTS of drivers who cant stay between the lines at night, swerving and going slow, so I pull ahead of them so they can follow my lead. Gotta take care of your brothers!

I would definitely go and see a doctor.
Also would avoid big breakfasts or lunches, after a big meal almost everybody wants a little siesta.

Like other people said get a sleep apnea test and see what the results are. They can see if your sleeping good. If you are then it something else. There are 4 different levels of sleep apnea and actually everyone has sleep it just 1-4 Events Per hour is normal. Sleep apnea Events have to be 10 seconds of stopped breathing to count. That's why 1-4 Events per hour is normal for everyone. If you get into sever sleep apnea that 37+ events per hour. Your looking at 6 minutes and up not not breathing per hour. Try holding your breath for 6 minutes and see how you feel. That's per hour, you sleep 7 hours at 6 minutes per hour of not breathing that's 42 minutes your not breathing. Try holding you breath for 42 minutes and see how you feel. That's why sleep apnea is worth looking at if your falling asleep. It could be something else and you won't know still they test you. You can record yourself sleeping and listen and see if you hear yourself stop breathing or grasping for air.
