What country are you from? What's wrong with you? I know you're a democrat, but we don't price fix in this country...it's illegal.
All of you know dang well what the problem is. It's not that it's too easy to get in to the business, and it's not the brokers.
It's the illegal immigrants taking our jobs and freight. I'm so sick of going into a truck stop and half of the customers don't speak English. I hear so many foreigners talking garbled nonsense so loud and so obnoxious on their headsets. We would have millions of less vehicles in the road and freight and truck/trailer prices would relax if THERE WERE LESS PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY!

And don't even call me racist, it's a matter of being legal or illegal.

I'm not going there with u with politics. Not today. Like I told central I pay $2000 a month for insurance, I have to buy fuel, be aware of the new regulations of d.o.t. and maintain my truck. I took a car from Miami to Orlando $150 which in Florida that's good. Now when I get to the customer and asked for my money. He asked how much do I owe you, I told him and he looks at me like I did something wrong. You know the broker charge him $650 which I get $150. The broker made $500 dollars don't have buy fuel don't have to worry about the 4 wheelers jumping in front of him, don't have to pay $2000 a month for insurance. We take all the risk and get paid nothing. Sometimes I see and hear people and other drivers talk about swift drivers Warner e.t.c. but do you know that's how brokers feel about us. That we're stupid uneducated and it reflects when they put those cheap loads on the board. Stop blaming others that are trying to provide for their families just like u. The money is there all they have to do is pay . We always blame each other the working class when it's the big business and others holding the loaf of bread, dropping down the crumbs leading us to fight over.

Here is the issue, the broker is going to keep as much as they can get away with, it is business. It is no different than any of us shopping for the best fuel price, part price, etc as we want to keep as much of our gross as possible, the broker does as well. Purchased transportation is a commodity to them just like diesel is to us, they only car about the lowest qualified price nothing else.
I couldn't tell you what the rates are on Central Dispatch, or any of the others except Ready and I only am on there because it was forced down my throat after nearly 14 years of a direct relationship with some Manheim auctions. I never even look at the load board side, don't care to see it. If you want the big money then go get the customers, simple as that. Just do it right based on value added service not by cutting the rates, there is already enough of that in this industry.
I started with one two car rollback moving inop units, my partner stared separately with a dually moving camper trailers, we now run a combined 5 company trucks, 1 full time leased owner, and have contractor relationships with 6 other carriers controlling about 20 trucks all together, some little two cars some trailers, good mix to handle anything. This all started with one truck, no brokers, just knocking on doors and asking for the work then doing the job correctly and on time as promised.
Sure, we had a hard time and I almost gave up a time or two, even took some part time side jobs when things were real tough, but point is we did the work to get the work so I don't have to deal with the bottom feeder brokers. That is the answer, when what you want is not in front of you go out and make it happen, create your own destiny. Yes, if the brokers can get away with low prices they will, so to correct their behavior we need to stop hauling their crap but in reality that will never happen because my crap is gold to someone else. I have been #####ing lately because my rates have dropped yet they are still much better than the best rates I have heard about on CD and other boards.Banker, passingthru69, NuCar Carrier and 2 others Thank this. -
Do you run in/out of New England less than 500 miles? Because otherwise to consistently see more than .70 cpm average anywhere else on central would be incredible at this point.

instead of .50 cents or.60 cents ,they are listing them for .20 cents or may be high of .25 cents ,,,,but if we do not take them ,there will be no cars moving until they match our prices thank you

That's because someone with no insurance has run orders like that before. That's the problem when carriers take any lowball order because it "pays the fuel to get home"... All it does is send a signal to the brokers that "hey, we haul for cheap, go ahead and underprice the quote to the customer because it'll get moved anyway"Terry270 Thanks this.

The problem is that someone WILL take them. Someone will see the rate at 30cpm and think "good enough! I'll do it!"Terry270 Thanks this.
