I try to always watch overpasses for pedestrians. If I see one I change lanes if I can or alter my speed to throw off their aim if they have bad intentions. Wife says I'm paranoid, but it happens enough that I say I'm prudent.
This is a new one

I'd have to agree with you on this one!Mike2633 Thanks this.

I eye everyone up there to this day. It wont be the first time...
Years ago there was a fad in the midwest with laser pointers novelties. The first time I encountered one it was shining into my cab searching for my head from the car next to me. I thought instantly, gun laser =badguy and proceeded to spin the wheel left to take the car out with the drives. Car took off and that was that.
CB radio lit up. We talked about those laser pens half the state. Stupid.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Back in the year 2002-2003 the John Lee Malvo era you could walk into all those Korean or Vietnamise stores that are litered all throughout Washington DC and buy cheap lazer pointers they were everywhere. They were cheap as cheap could be. Readily avaliable though.

I thought laser pointers were just to mess with the cats.
Bob Dobalina and Mike2633 Thank this. -
Yeah, but some cats you just shouldn't mess with. A few years ago, I watched a (probably) high school kid, shining one of those dam things at people, in a crowd. An older gentleman approached the kid, and politely asked him to stop it, telling him it could damage someone's vision. The kid pointed it right in the old man's eyes, and said"what ya gonna do about it. Kid ended up flat on his smart arse, and the pointer seemed to be missing.
Sometimes, there is a bit of justice after all!Mike2633 Thanks this. -
One of our guys took a pumpkin through the windshield just west of Minneapolis a few years back. Ended up in the ditch. Kept the set upright. No injuries. Never did catch the person.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Well it happened again 376 last night or early this morning one of our trucks got something through the windshield broke the whole windshield out. Pennsylvania State Police are going to have to kick it in gear and do something about this.

These are going to be tough ones to solve. Short of putting up cameras on every overcrossing, it's pretty much a matter of a cop being in the right place at the right time.
Of course good investigation might be able to get a lead, considering that the punks doing this are going to HAVE to brag about it.
But to develop actual evidence is going to be tough to do. Of course whatever object that goes through the windshield is potential evidence. But other than proving this was the particular rock that broke that particular windshield, it's likely to be useless.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I don't know if this is a pattern but both incidents have happened on Mondays around the same place and same time.Big Don Thanks this.
