my truck(not SNI) has an APU,large inverter, and a fridge. I used to scoff when drivers whined about not having them........until I got them. I make the same amount per mile as I did with SNI, but now hauling a Tank, and Man, those 3 sure do make life better for a driver

Should have given a little more info, sorry. I've been a driver for 30 years. Mostly regional stuff. The wife and I are tired of bosses and want a change. As I said before, we are empty nesters now and have the chance to do this. I seem to be drawn to the IC Choice and have been researching it. Can't always believe everything on the old inter-web now, can we. Schneider rep told me the trucks have apu's in them now. Which routes pay the best? The dedicated, should I stay regional, should I hammer out as many miles that I can, new truck, used truck, so many questions. Sorry for rambling.

On the ic side there are lots of good paying loads to Valdosta, Tifton, and Macon. You could be home every night if you wanted. Also alot of plentiful freight elsewhere if you want OTR. It's just a matter of learning the load board really. I kinda of think of Savannah as my second home. You could do fine. Just a learning curve figuring out the freight trends.

Is it reasonable to average $1.50-1.75/mile? Seems like that would be what I would need to make this work.

It's doable when the stars and moon line up just right. So I wouldn't want to give you the wrong impression and call it reasonable. if I can average 1.50 on a 2000 mile week I call it a good week. Some people most likely do better and some worse. But hey at least you know what your workable numbers are.

It may be reasonable this week but I don't think with all that's happening within SNI it's reasonable every week.

If you know your numbers which you say you do then my guess is you need 1.50 to 1.75 every week. Not some weeks.

Moved FROM the NE 3 years ago to Georgia where my daughter went to college. Is pay better up there because I know taxes are higher. Really want to stay away from snow.
