Either a bad leak in cac or one of the turbos has failed. If the top turbo is shot chances are it damaged the bottom one as well. Also do you have stock mufflers on it? If so look for a restriction there.

Yes both water and oil temps normal
If they were plugged i wouldnt think it would be making full boost
Ive got one but by the time i can pull over on the side of the road and open the hood and try and get a reading the temp has gone down ~300 or so
I didnt notice any different smells when i drove it. Yes the probe is post turbo
A bad leak in the CAC i would think i would hear and would result in low boost. Neither of which i have.
Yes stock mufflers. Ill take a look at those monday -
We live in new england so everything gets rusted up pretty well. The last time i did an elbow it took half a day. Lot of work to do that on 2 trucks just to swap probes. Unless im pretty certain thats the issue i will hold off
I could be wrong but if it was dumping a lot of fuel i would expect to be seeing a lot of black smoke. I dont have any more smoke than usual -
You may hear it but it is very common for a leak not to affect boost. I am thinking like superhauler myself. If the temp gun matched the pyro at the time or close I would say pyro is pretty pretty accurate and you are getting hot

Driving around town ill get the temp up to 800-900 which is way hotter than usual. But by the time i pull over, apply the brakes, and open the hood its cooled off back to the normal idling temp so when i shoot the exhaust with the heat gun its normal. I spent about half and hour trying
wore out Thanks this. -
You wont hear a leak most of the time. Squire soapy water or windex on all conections at high idle 1500 to 1700 rpm. The cac you will have to pressurize. If it is original cac I will bet $$$ it leaks.wore out Thanks this.

Only small boost leaks whistle and whine usually....larger ones just leak, if that makes sense. Your CAC doesn't need to be airtight, but it shouldn't lose more than 5psi in 15 seconds after being pressurized.

If your idling pyro temp is reading normal and not 2-300 high, and it agrees with your heat gun temp (what is your idling temp btw? Mine will be between 350 and 600 depending if I've just finished a tough slow down pull, or coasted to an empty stop) chances are good your top readings are accurate. In which case you might want to figure this out pretty quick before you have a melt down. You haven't really answered the topic of one turbo failing. My C15 is the single, so I'm not too familiar with the twins, but there has got to be a lot of guys on here that can speak to this. So you twin turbo guys, is this how it goes when that top turbo packs it in, high egts but no other real symptoms?
Oxbow Thanks this. -
If the CAC and radiator are plugged with dirt, bugs, etc. then the air passing inside of the CAC can't be cooled down. A plugged radiator can cause an engine to run hot because air isn't passing through the tubes and fins.
