Yea, and you seldom have to find a door, just the guy that runs the forklift, "Man I hope he didn't go home already!"

I've done some dry van. There's something to be said with TransAm and their loads. You never really have a problem with weight here... I've only had one load that I couldn't get legal. Dry van for me was a different ballgame. I ran into weight issues a lot. I remember going back to one shipper and having to wait from Friday until Monday to get 3500 taken off a salt load because I was grossing 83.5k and they just happened to get me loaded right around the time they went home for the weekend.

Another thing along the same lines is the shape of the trailers at TA. Some of them look like hell, but they keep them in good working order for the most part. The brakes get serviced and the tandems will usually slide. Some newbies seem to like to leave their truck registration in the trailer box and keep the trailer registration for some reason, but that's an easy fix. I can remember chaining a dry van to one of those yellow poles with my trainer to get the tandems to move. I was supposed to pick up one trailer that had no brake shoes AT ALL on the right rear tandems one night. No idea how that was managed. Some companies just don't really worry about the equipment as much as TA does.

Most of TA loads come pre-loaded so you don't have sit time on both ends and that's nice... or if you do a least you can dump the empty and bobtail on PC a bit. There's still a lot of sitting but I'd say it's a little better than a lot of dry van loads if you average it out.

Those are just some thought vs my limited experience with dry van. I already know flatbed ain't for me. If I have to tarp anything it's going to be a body :p

That's a joke, I worked there for a month, that's just to get drivers. I was in a Wal Mart dedicated, not anything like recruiter said, 1000 miles a week. They never paid detention, I would never recommend that company.

Well they sure advertise the heck out of it. I guess it is contingent on being on time with the load. Did Marten give you those loads with NO CHANCE of being on time?? And yeah 1000 is crappy.
