Hmmm, whereabouts in Iowa? Anywhere near the quad cities? I'm thinking dohrn transfer might be up your alley. Some of their drivers look like they are fresh out of prison, and judging from all their smashed up equipment, I would guess that anyone who can drive down the road without hitting anything would be welcome there. I am just guessing of course.

Another idea, if all else fails, is to look for yard driver or dock worker positions (again, dohrn would be a place to start). That would at least get your foot in the door with a company. And some companies might consider yard driving to be tractor trailer experience. Mine did anyway. Good luck!

    Rusty Trawler Thanks this.

Tell the recruiter your girlfriend had gone into labor and you were rushing her to the hospital.
No way they can verify the truth
If you're married, you can add that your wife beat you with a baseball bat and you were out of your head.
