Should be outside..Dont think they went inside the cab till 2015..Doesnt work worth a crap any ways..set your own up on the mirror
bored silly Thanks this. -
had a 1:4 swr off that mount on my truck couldn't get it any lower... the antenna/stinger is blocked too much in that location... that bracket didn't stay long on my truck..... it had to go so I made sure it went....
-
With that set up or anything thats in one side will be blocked in some direction..Two woulda solved that prob..Nothin wrong with a 1.4 swr, dont get caught up in a super low swr unless your running big power.
-
ya know the power I run and the blockage was more of a issue than the swr reading. plus my antenna is a bit heavier than some/most. in time probably not long it would have wallowed out stripped the bolts 4/real
-
Didnt notice who wrote it till after the fact...true that heavy ant woulda ripped the side off the truck

I went to Steel Rod's on I65 at the 201 and he wanted $50 for an aluminum version. I said sorry I just don't se $50 here and why the big thing about using the round stock? Are they trying to sell you a $25 clamp to make money? I say bend some flat stock drill two mounting holes and an 1/2" hole for a $7 mount and presto. I think I will do that next weekend. I was thinking about going with a Wilson 2000.

Use the 10" shaft at minimum if possible find a 20" shaft to get coil up away from cab, when I first got into a cascadia I used a predator 10k with 27" shaft and it worked really well, only drawback was too much stress on antenna mount with high wind conditions, I since have switched to a 5' fiberglass whip and it works pretty good, when I come across a 6' ,in my travels, I will try that.skulldrinker and bored silly Thank this.

Im thinkin that with coil up so high away from the truck there is not enuf signal reflect gettin away from antenna..I have a 40" shaft mount and then another 22/16/9" mounts..Seems the 18 works a lil better than the 22 so far..I still have a pair of 7ft skip shooters waitin on me to pick up..

I am getting into a new 2017 Cascadia next week when I get back to Florida, and from looking at pictures online, it appears that they have placed 2 antennas on back of cab, I have to believe its better than the Integrated system but I still have my doubts about it being very efficient, not only because of the placement of the antennas but also due to the fact that the mounts are not grounded ( Im guessing ) just like when they were placed on the sides of the cab. So like the Bud Light commercials " Here We Go " , I might as well plan on moving my current antenna system from the 2016 to the new one. I do intend to give the factory setup a trial just for the heck of it.
