You obviously left a good impression with the officer and he wanted to reward you with a sticker to help you out a bit ... Good job on keeping all your ducks in a row

I guess, I only do what they ask of me to maintain my truck and trailer and keep accurate records of everything, I can only assume everyone does that

My experience with those CVSA is that other officers take it as a challenge to find something the previous officer missed. Typically, I'll go years without being inspected. Get one of those stickers, and I'll be pulled every other week. Peel the sticker off, and I won't be bothered again for a few more years. I'd rather not have the stupid thing, so when I DO get one, I peel it off the next time I stop.

I passed a level 1 in Banning of all places. I asked about my sticker and they replied, "we're out of stickers at this time."

I just got one at the Northbound Rainbow I15 scale. All it took was the inspector seeing the military in me. It was a miracle to say the least.

I had a level one last week just outside Des Moines. He wrote me up for not writing what the "commodity" was in my log book. I had the BOL stating what it was and he could clearly see it on the trailer but that wasn't good enough for him. Typical carrier enforcement jerk with all the macho attitude to match. Some of these guys are on such a power trip.

Regs clearly state you need EITHER 1) BOL# or 2) Shipper AND Commodity
Steel Tiger and CallMeArty Thank this. -
It was an honest mistake. As he was looking back at my previous log book entries he could see they were all filled out correctly. Just thought since everything else passed during the inspection he would have given me a pass.

I got got in AZ for not putting a zipcode. Mistake or not gotta be thorough. Not preaching just a lesson learned the hard way.

Same thing happened to me on I84 at the rest area in Middletown. I asked the Inspector for a decal and he said "I ran out of stickers" I said to him "Did I answer any of YOUR questions or directions with the phrase "I ran out? Complete BS
