How does someone with a prescription for a therapy animal get cleared medically to pilot a big truck?

It's actually not that hard to get a dog registered as a service dog. There's websites that claim to be some national organization that will sell you a certificate, a vest for the dog and a stack of cards with legal jargon on them to pass out to people and you don't even need to have a dog to do all this. It can all be done for less than $100. One of the news networks actually did it and registered a stuffed animal as a service dog. The whole thing cheapens the meaning of it for the people who might genuinely need a dog with them.

No kidding. I let my pup out not long ago and a guy grabs his fur ball up. Says I should have got out and told him I had a dog because she is a service animal trained to alert for heart attacks. Mine was leashed his wasn't. Nor would she cease to bark on command. But she was smart enough to alert when he was having a heart attack. Saved his life twice. Don't know why I'm kinda fretting my up coming DOT pyhsical with no previous health issues ever.

Well its indicative of the liberal atheist attitude of a huge part of the country. I agree with you 100%. You probably can have service lorikeets because it would be discriminatory to have it limited to just dogs.
I didn't know that getting the authorization for one was easier than getting a script for pot.

I've wondered... seems like if you can't handle your, fairly normal 'depression', you get a 'service animal'... Then you have people that have been in completely mundane predicaments - I read a story about a woman that was in a car crash, she has a therapy duck... and it goes on planes with her... Now I get it if you're a vet or an ex-officer and have committed crimes for your country or seen things that deconstruct normal psychological functioning or you were held captive for 6 years, beaten, raped and fed your own #### daily... But it's getting to the point where if you fall off your bike at 6 years old, the first thing you do is quit trying, the second thing you do is consider yourself a loser 12 years later because you can't ride a bike, third thing you do is get a service Guinea Pig.... ####ing weakly constituted people.... I try to exercise empathy, but some of this is getting ridiculous.

As an aside, when I read the OP's title... I thought: 'yeah, wives and girlfriends go in to team shower all the time.', haha.

As Bugs Bunny would say, "Unlax, Doc!" No point in fretting about it. Hell, that actually could raise your blood pressure. All you have to do, is figure out something ELSE to fret about, when you start fretting about your
