You can go into dispatch and see if they have any local runs you can do while truck is im shop. Maybe they can give you a local truck to do it. Or ask for another truck. You cant be choosy if they dont have many trucks available. If you get one with alot of miles on it...you can expect swift to give you a newer one since theg trade out trucks around the 500000 miles mark. Sux to sit

I got to the el paso terminal and my truck broke. Shop said it be awhile. So i notified my dm. He called me back and said go talk to fleet manager there. He had a local job with 2 stops he needed to get done. One was an empty trailer a walmart store wanted gone and then take that trailer to do a live load and tcall back at terminal. So i went in. My dm called an hour later and said they were glad i helped and pushed my truck in front of line. Truck was done by time i got back.. so you can make money if trucks in shop. You just have to proactive.

I tried that. I need my dm to email south carolina, he needs to a prove a new rig, my dm has to confirm vvia email then south Carolina notifies the terminal I'm at to issue me a new rig.... red tape sucks just as much as sittin
They took my truck off shop status because they couldn't find anything wrong. Igrabbed a tech and spun the steering wheel on my rig. it just kept goin. my steering screwed up and I have some electrical bug.but my rigs showing avail in the system.... uggggg -
Ok update.
I have a new rig yet I'm back in the shop. I've applied to Jones bro and tmc. followed up with tmc and the recruiter said I'm just barely in their hiring area. I gotta call back tomorrow b ecuasee the app I submitted yesterday is still getting looked at. -
Makes you wonder if shop inspects these trucks before putting it on the ready line. When i turned my truck in i always gave shop list of whats wrong with truck.
Had a kw and qc took a crap. Went to edwardsville terminal and was a long line in front of me. My dm said screw that and gave me the fleet managers name to get another truck. They gad 3 available and i picked the best looking one. Everythung worked . So i moved all my crap in it. The next morning shop called me and said that truck wasnt avaulablw. The wi dow was leaking somewhere and was scheduled to get if fixed. So i went and got the 2nd best one and had to take that to shop for airleak behind the brake knob assembly
They had fixed it .pretty quuck and was abke to get that load picked up in time. -
They dont.
I'm chillin at the Jonestown terminal again.
You know it's bad when you call the Chinese place and the guy just says I'll be there in an hour... -

I was lucky enough to have a friend I went to school with in the shop. he gave me a lift to my grandma's and I'm renting a car tomorrow to drive the 5 hours home. Orientation for Werner is wensday. sign on bonus (small one but the offer of one was nice) and she said she will do everything in her power to get me a kw 10spd.not holding my breath on the kw but the don't run pos proshits so that's a plus.
