I know this could have literally been me twice on that stretch of road. @tucker the deceased name ends in 'z'.

See... I saw 287 and thought: Jersey eats it again.... Not even close.
bzinger Thanks this. -
Twice I was almost a Swift & Fed Ex statistic on that road. Both times in the middle of the night. The Fed Ex was about 2 feet onto my side, and a ways off- horn, slide over in the e lane. He had his F brights on.
The F Swift. I think that is as close as I've ever come and ever want to come to a head on. He swerves way over maybe 200 feet up. Attempted suicide? No time for nothing, but truck ALL THE WAY into the e lane, saying you dumb MF repeatedly. He also had his brights on. Amazing there aren't more of these on that highway. -
I came thru there yesterday and the cotten is coming out of the fields so I'm assuming thats what a module is ?...oil field traffic seems to be ramping up in that area too .

I like the 'Rillo as well. One of my favorite spots to 34. Best steaks in the universe. And I like that Petro. Competent shop as well, albeit very busy. And the 72.
Article says it was cotton. Says 'Z' turned out in front of oncoming, exiting the cotton field. -
@bzinger module. They are talking container trailer full of cotton going to the rail hub.
Cotton bails are 900lbs easy. Two rows down a trailer. Leaving maybe a foot between. Use to haul the cotton out of Cali to rail and boats. Use to -
reading the article and subsequent comments it's easy to shake one's heads and assume it's distraction--which many times it is easy to see driver's distracted(i've been it too--reaching over for a bottle of water, something bounces from overhead, dispatch calling and fumbling with my headset).
the other thing that has me shaking my head is that drivers just don't give a ####. i've long since given up raging about four-wheelers...they do stupid things but i don't expect them to know better about how a truck moves/stops, etc....
what i have found myself absolutely raging about of late is when OTHER TRUCKERS pull bullcrap maneuvers....i've counted 3 times in the past week alone where a truck pulls out onto a highway with me/other cars barreling down that same lane and suddenly i find myself trying to slow down FAST! .....and in one instance at least having no one coming the opposite direction so i could go around the driver who was literally going less than 10 mph(not so with the other times). perhaps the driver didn't look before pulling out but i've given 'the face' when passing these drivers and they almost always look back at me--which suggests to me that they knew what they were doing...but to heck with it--apparently i better figure it out what i'm going to do with them sitting there on the highway.
i've seen it written in other posts as well--it's another trucker that will do it to you before any other.
what this means for the level of self-respect and thus, respect for others may just be an apt comment on where we are as humans--in the sh*thole.
anyway, RIP Mr. Cruz
