It's 62. But you have to already have no money (Less than 2000.) No house, no car no nothing. Broke and poor and in need of health care meaning you cannot bathe yourself or wash dishes. You might be approved at that time. But keep in mind there is a war going on with various states who realized that the costs are soaring and refuse to continue to pay medicaid.

If you own stocks, bonds, precious metals etc etc etc etc all of that has to go away before you are approved for it.... understand that people who are approved are sometimes desitute and cannot afford to go buy a set of clothes each month.

Also.. if you have that, expect to lose all of your doctors. None of them will accept medicaid now. It's evolving.

I would not depend on Mediaid. Consider it gone.

About 80% of all the insurance issues we have had in this country, the one thing that would have helped the most was allowing people to shop for insurance across state lines. The Feds didn't have to do anything else but that and it would have helped millions of people.

I go to a walkin clinic have for yrs because they charge the patients based on their income. Then got a job and still continued to go there because I'm happy with my doctor.I signed up for dissability which means recent medical records for social security.Took almost 4 months for a determination from social security that I am disabled based on my age, medical records and what I did for a living.I'm not getting much but it's something considering I haven't had an income for over a yr.People wanna ##### about me on Medicade let them

Why are you guys on that stupid obamacare anyway?

Cheaper to Pay the Fine..Way Cheaper- Or Get insurance on your own like I do- Still Cheaper-

Stay Healthy by working Hard Everyday- Go without insurance till your 62-Pay the Penalty- And Get yourself an Occ-Acc For yourself at work.

Just Stupid in my eyes to Give up 1000 per Month of your hard dollars Plus a 10k deduct just to have it-

yeah Its a Risk- But its one that is worth taking- You'll wonder why your bank account never goes anywhere

there are insurance companies out there (Subpar) That offeer really affordable insurance- But low coverage

Patty...I've been on only sporadically for some time and didn't realize you were off the road. I sincerely hope you regain your health sooner than later. Good luck!

That depends. I had a couple of biopsies last year. If I didn't have insurance, the cost for both would have been $20,000. Since I had insurance, the contracted rate that insurance paid was around $2000.00.

If you don't have insurance, you have to pay full price. With insurance, you pay the contracted rates - about 10% of the full price. The providers write off 90% against their tax bill for insured patients.

The providers are in on the scam.

Thank you sweety.Even though I've been disabled for over a yr.By SSA rules they determined it's been since last Febuary and you have to have been not working for 5 months plus bad health to qualify.I was lucky and didn't have to go thru a lawyer to get dissability like many cases of course I'd rather be working but what's the point when I would end up quoting because I'm not able to work to the employers standards.I tried that 4 times and quit each job in less then 2 weeks.Of course the credit card bills are now out of control and one card company went thru all the legal process and just about to sue me but that's now taken care of.

I pay $271/Month for mine. Zero deductible, zero copay medical, zero out of pocket for medical and $3 copay for three meds. Never found a doctor or facility that won't take it. Never had a billing problem.
My increase for next year for my plans will total $21.
Careful shopping for the medicare market can save a lot of money. I never understood why a person would pay $500/Month for a plan from an insurance company i have never heard of when the identical plan can be had for $100/month from a nationally reconized company, with a much better satisfaction rating.
As far as the Affordable Care Act, those young and in good health can get a catastophic care policy fairly cheap and if you structure your Federal income taxes to where you get little to no tax refund at the end of the year, the IRS can't collect the penalty, as it has no enforcement authority. The only way they can get the penalty is from your tax refund. If and when the insurance companies get the ability to sell across state lines, the rates may stabilize some, but not as much as the politicions claim.
Insurance has changed since it's first inception. Used to be you paid an insurance company a small fee and they bet that you wouldn't need a payout. They invested the premiums and got interest from the deposits and that is where the profits came from.
Now, they want a much larger payment and if you don't need the payout, they get the interest and the larger payout which translates to higher profits. Today, you pay your ever increasing premiums and if a large payout occurs, they ask for and receive a rate increase to cover their past losses. They win both ways.
