Hey I'm wondering what the pros and cons are of hotshotting opposed to runnin a big rig. Thinking about getting into hotshot but if i have to run it like a big rig, I'm wondering if it's really worth it. Intelligent replies only please

Most intelligent reply I can think of.

Read the hot shot sub forum. This has been discussed in depth there many times.

If you plan on being over 26,000 the yes you will be running with all the same rules and regs of a big rig. Lighter ltl/hotshot loads tend to slow up this time a year. I wouldn't try the hothsot business unless you have some direct customers lined up. Running of the load boards is pretty risky trying to find good paying loads.

The biggest con I've run into is maintainence on the emmission garbage on these 1 ton trucks. I bought a brand new 2015 Dodge and to date spend well over 10k just repairing stuff that involves the Emmisions. Hauling over 15k on these trucks on a daily basis can be hard on them. Check engine lights are going to be your biggest enemy.
