I am having a regen issue on this truck. Driver completed regen 3 times already and truck shuts down after 1 mile.

On this trip driver noticed a shafting on a fuel line thats leaking fuel.
(Fuel line from Davco fuel/water separator)

Driver taped this fuel line and it stopped the leak and on this same trip truck needed needed a regen every 200 miles but now after 1000 miles it's not completing regen.

Truck is 45 miles from base.

Could the fuel line be an issue?

Should we get road service to change it or get truck towed 45 miles to our regular mechanic in Columbus?

Thank in advance please advice what you would do.

Once its in shut down mode,. it usually wont run for more than 45 secs to 1 min no matter what before it will shut off,.. I've been in a problematic truck that had constant DPF and regen issues. Doesnt matter if your at 60 mph or sitting idle,.. when its ready to shut off,.. it will.

From my experience,.. the only way for it to get out of that safety shutdown mode is that the dealer or someone,.. needs to reset the ECM and tell it that its done a complete regen and the DPF is clean.

Doesnt mean the problem is fixed,.. but your driver will be able to continue on until the next failed regen and the manual regen lights up.

The actual cause and problem could be a multitude of things. Impossible to guess from behind this laptop. I wish I could help you more. But I would suggest a tow truck and taking it to someone familiar with your truck.

been there done that,.. I dont think I will even own another DPF equipped truck until I stop reading about people like you having this same problem,.. over and over again. If I do buy one,.. the first thing I would do is disable all of the missions. Legal or not. I plan to retire in 12 yrs,.. so odds are I will never own one. I doubt they will have this figured out by then.

I have my regular mechanic heading there now with his laptop.

I bought truck with 710k miles and did 80k on it.

I dont know when was the last time it was baked.

We never had to regen in that 80k miles.

Mechanic does not think the fuel line is causing an issue.

We will find out when he get's there and plugs it in, i will update the thread.

    Thanks guys

    Update...

I hope may be informative to someone.

The issue was the DPF dozer injector.
    part $210
    Labour $225

Mechanic pluggled in computer, diagnosed DPF dozer injector bad and DPF filter full.

After swapping parts we were able to regen succesfully and baking was not required.

I don't know exactly your issue: however I had the same exact problems.Repair guy tried Regen, didn't work for him either.Had to limp the truck to Penske Spokane.Turned out to be a bad board, chip something in the computer, having to do with emissions and regen.
