Drinking a lot of water is probably the cheapest and most likely way to keep weight off.
Of course exercise/ walk when possible to keep your muscles and joints active. Also try to get your vitamins and minerals.
Heard a eating strategy the other day. If consists of eating, whatever is normal for you, but fasting once or twice a week for 16 hours each period. It tricks your body to convert more stored fat to energy and for a longer time period.Reddog2110 and gdyupgal Thank this. -

When you fast, you begin to strip your fats. But when that is finished your muscle is stripped too.
There are a number of changes to your normal flow of chemicals and hormones as used by your body when you fast. Which is why when you do a overnight no water, no food for a lab blood draw in the morning the needle hurts very much and everything is harder to get to not flowing very well. When you dramatically reduce your calorie intake, you will lose weight. But it can also cause all kinds of health problems, including muscle loss. Further, when you start fasting, your body goes into conservation mode, burning calories more slowly.
Keep in mind that the initial weight lost on a fast is primarily fluid or "water weight," not fat. And when you go back to eating, any lost weight usually gets a return ticket back. Not only do most people regain weight lost on a fast, they tend to add a few extra pounds because a slower metabolism makes it easier to gain weight. Worse, the weight that is regained is likely to be all fat -- lost muscle has to be added back at the gym.Reddog2110 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Fasting and keto or low carb diet is the best to not blow up. Bodybuilders need to eat all the time due to spiking insulin. Where the eating every 2 hours comes from to bulk up. You spike insulin every time you eat it gains weight. The least you spike insulin everyday the likely hood you don't gain weight.

learn to adjust your hours and your caloric intake. When I started 20 yrs ago I was at 230, I'm at 250, my weight fluctuates, when I feel in the mood I'll get the exercise. Sometimes if I'm on a live load/unload, I'll go for a 20 minute walk. Have one customer that always takes 2 hrs to load, I'll walk the 1.5 miles from my truck to the main road and back, that's a quick 30 minutes of exercise.

I walk for beer. Sometimes a few miles one way in Pennsylvania. Everyone's got to be motivated by something. I like a buzz, plus it makes sleeping easier (I'm restless, constantly).
