I am in the process of getting my broker MC #. As I posted in my previous thread, I'm getting my broker authority because I have 3 trucks and I want to find my own loads without having to pay a broker or a dispatcher. My questions is: does shippers place their loads on websites such as truckstop or others?
shipper board loads?

You don't need broker authority to get freight from shippers.
-
A broker with their own authority doesn't go to truck stop load boards to find loads for drivers. A broker has contracts with shippers and the broker finds carriers to move the product.
If your getting your own authority to broker, then you should be having a Rolodex of shippers who want you too find carriers or your carrier move loads for them.
The way it sounds though, your going to have your own authority, and still pull loads off a cheap load board for your drivers. Which makes zero sense, unless your looking for another way to skim the top of a drivers pay check. Or your lazy and misinformed....tserberis, Paidmiles, chimbotano and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah But Chimbotano doesn't know that. He thinks you DO need a Broker MC to get freight because the "brokers" Told him so.
Chimbo- With 3 Trucks, You can get customers- Just make sure you can supply your trucks to them everyday-week....Its Not Hard as the Brookers make it seem.chimbotano Thanks this. -
If you have 3 trucks up and running everyday, why don't you quit the load boards and go do business with direct customers? Cut out the middle man and make your company do better business all around.chimbotano, Ruthless and stayinback Thank this.

I just realized I said basically the same thing you said... maybe he should hear it twice.chimbotano Thanks this.

He was told that in another thread already. For whatever reason he just doesn't seem to get it. Makes you wonder how some people manage to tie their shoe laces in the morning.

No,. no. I got it!!!!! thank you guys. I read and I learn. you guys are awesome! thank you .

No you must find your own shippers. Not sure what broker school you went to but they should have made that point clear. As a motor Carrier you do not need to be a broker to get loads for your trucks but to give loads to other carrierschimbotano Thanks this.
