I dont think you understand my question. Or your answering somebody else. My question is how do you or quality handle a large repair bill. Since your leasing not buying. If u leased from ryder or penske this would not be a question

Its a lease purchase, so repairs unless warranty work are yours
-
Your problem and no you don't have to depreciate over 5 years
-
I'd suggest getting a more expensive new truck with warranty

So here's MY deal: company driver for three years after selling my 30+ year construction company to my sons. one wife 49 years. No debts, house paid for 20-40 k available without touching retirement funds. I am going with a company that is long haul refer. 85% of linehaul, average 1.60/mi loads before their cut. All FSC to me. I am going w/ Quality for ONE reason: WALK AWAY. I don't want to have a health issue come up and be stuck taking a 20-30% hit on selling a newly purchased truck. I plan to stay out about 3 weeks at a time and drive max legal hours. I calculate my odds of success at roughly 100%.

Oh ya couple other things forgot to mention: FICO score is about 780 and wife makes make 82k/yr

That is not enough revenue for a Reefer and a Quality lease. Good luck. Hope it works out for you.

Better off taking that 20-40k and pay cash for a used truck then do a quality rip off lease for 85% of 1.60.
ffrocknroll81 and spyder7723 Thank this. -
Stay home and let your wife keep working. plan some get away trips with her. Treat her well and enjoy life. Trucking is no fun anymore with all the regulation, Qualcomm tracking and now Elogs.

Depending on whose data you use, national average for reefer line haul is around $1.88 per mile ... If you're going to run for percentage you need to 1) be able to control what, where and when on the loads you haul because 2) the only reason to run percentage is to be able to beat the average, not run for less than average.
If you're going to run for less than average, you may as well run for mileage pay with a company that pays on all miles.
